yes I am bitter

I am bitter because I can’t be proud of my country anymore! I am bitter that all our rights have been taken away! I am bitter because the government is trying to screw with Social Security and Medicare!I am bitter because too many of our soldiers are dying for nothing! I am bitter that this whole country doesn’t rise up take our country back! Bitter, just a little.

You bet I’m bitter! I’m just just bitter I’m down right outraged! I’m I the only one in this country feeling that way? It sure does seem like it. This country was taken over by a coup in 2000 and no one can see that.

Do what we have to but take this country back. Take it away from the republican politicians who is responsible for this mess. Charge Cheney and Bush with war crimes and make them accountable for their actions. Impeach them now!

  2. Billmax Says:

I keep hearing about “our rights have been taken,” but I’ve never heard “all our rights have been taken away.” Do you really mean to say we have no rights now? What happened to freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to keep and bear arms, the right to assemble? I hear people speaking freely, newspapers are still publishing, Air America is still on the air, I still have my guns, Code Pink assembles to protest and the cops are there to protect them, not arrest them.

Invisibleman (there, fixed it for you.)

I’m not so bitter as I am sad that we have people ranting about things they have no knowledge about and do so with poor spelling, punctuation and grammar. You want to be bitter, dude? Get mad at the school system that produced you.

And to the poster: Why do I get the feeling that you’ve never been proud of your country? Unless, of course, you were under the impression that if there’s a democrat in the White House, any war is just.

Only people of your caste would see our soldiers as “dying for nothing”. Tell that to the people in the Middle East who voted for the first time in their lives. Tell that to their buddies still over there that watched them do good and noble things for people they didn’t even know. You’re pitiful.

  4. David Says:

    To the poster,

If “all our rights have been taken away”, how is it that you have the ability (read: freedom/right) to post whatever you want on this forum??

Your ignorance is what makes me bitter.

  5. Volpeculus Says:

Good gracious… all the neoconservatives just came out of the woodwork here, didn’t they?

@Judy M: I do hope you’re of draftable age. I am, and am sick and tired of hearing well-off Boomers ranting about how our youth should be slaughtered for their continuing benefit. You, madam, are quite pitiful as well.

  6. Volpeculus Says:

@David: Human rights are more than being able to vent on a blog. People deserve better.

  7. Judy M Says:

Volpeculus: Whether or not I’m of draftable age is irrelevant. There is no draft - which is indeed relevant. Men and women join the military voluntarily. Furthermore, I don’t know any “well-off Boomers” who have any feelings that our youth “should be slaughtered for their continuing benefit”. Engage in much hyperbole? You’ve employed it here quite freely. And could your second comment, in defense of Human Rights, be more nebulous and evasive? Somehow, I don’t think so. Billmax answered to the issue quite nicely and in more inclusive terms, but because David merely singled out one small aspect, you pounce.

Bad form, sir. (or madam, should that be the case)

  8. Maleva Says:

To all of you neocons: I have always been proud of my country. You have no right to say I haven’t! If you think we have all our rights anymore dream on! We may be allowed to vent right now but we are being monitored! What exactly do you mean people of my caste? I guess you think I’m an untouchable! Are you some kind of Brahmin? Do you wear a ruby in your forehead? As for those people over there who voted for the first time, they hate us! What a price they had to pay to elect a US puppet government! Our courageous men and women laid down their lives for oil! The rest of you can kiss my ass!

  9. Jillianne Says:

For Judy M., David and Billmax: Been paying any attention to what is going on in this country. Well do let me inform you on at least one thing you obviously don’t know. I just received a notice from Discover Card informing me they now have the right to access my credit report at any time, raise my rate if I have been late on a payment to another company or applied for credit with another company and (you should bloody love this) have the right to access my computer and everywhere on the internet I visit!

But you Judy M. are only concerned with proving you didn’t flunk kindergarten “cause you can scribble” and you can read a few simple sentences and bless your wrinkled hide, you claim you can even spell a little bit, although if tested, I’ll bet you aren’t nearly as superior as pretend.

As for you Billmax, you aren’t any more aware of what rights have been lost then old Judy M. which declares you another “Old Rawhide” too damned flipping old to serve with the exception of your lolling tongue getting loose now and again.

David, the only thing that comes to mind after reading your less than brilliant comment is, “DUH, HUH,WHU?”.

  10. Billmax Says:

Still no response about specific rights being taken away? I know that Obama is concerned about people holding onto their First and Second Amendment rights, and I’d be interested in learning how he feels about the rest of the Bill of Rights.

Draftable age? There is no draft.

  11. Billmax Says:

Jillianne, I seem to have missed the “Discover Card” rights in the Constitution. Could you point that out to me?

  12. Billmax Says:

Jillianne, wait…wait…I get it. I’new to this blog thingy. “As for you Billmax, you aren’t any more aware of what rights have been lost then old Judy M. which declares you another “Old Rawhide” too damned flipping old to serve with the exception of your lolling tongue getting loose now and again.”
Is this where you make one of those “ad hominem attacks” without a substantive comment rights being taken away. My bad, I thought you were trying to make a serious argument.

  13. Judy M Says:

I don’t get this preoccupation with my age or Billmax’s. Are we supposed to respond to that in some fashion? Suppose I said I was 18 or maybe 22. Would that be cause for you to disqualify me from having an opinion because I’m too young? Or is a more advanced age (something you have declared both of us to be with no evidence whatsoever) of say 40, 50 or 60 something worthy of scorn now? What’s the best age to be to avoid your puerile name-calling?
